*Content Warning: This piece discusses domestic violence and trauma. Please prioritize your well-being in choosing when and how to engage with this material.*
There’s a moment that lives in every woman’s body. A moment when words slice through the careful weaving of our healing like a blade made of ice. A moment when our truth – raw, hard-won, and finally spoken – gets sacrificed on the altar of someone else’s denial.
I know this moment. My body knows this moment. Every woman’s body knows this moment.
Mine came in the aftermath of loss, in that sacred, untethered space where grief had cracked me open to my bones. When years of healing were finally bearing fruit, when trauma’s layers were peeling back like old skin, when life’s impermanence was teaching me its hardest lessons about love and loss and living anyway.
Seven Words…
What did you do to provoke him?
>>>>>—-<<<<<
Seven words.…
Spoken by family.
Flung with casual cruelty.
Wielded with deliberate precision.
Designed to erase not just what happened,
but who I am.
Who I was.
Who I had become.
Who my daughter was watching me be.
Feel this moment in your body:
Let yourself remember:
– The sudden constriction in your throat
– The way your stomach drops
– How your chest tightens
– The rush of heat to your face
– The instinct to make yourself smaller
This is not anxiety.
This is your body recognizing injustice.
Journaling Moment:
Take a breath. Place your hand on your heart. Write:
– When have words tried to erase your truth?
– What sensations arise as you remember?
– What did your body know that others denied?
Let your hand move across the page without censoring.
Seven Words,.. The room tilted. Seven Words…Time stretched. My body remembered every moment these words had ever been spoken – to me, to my mother, to my sisters, to my friends. To every woman who has ever dared to name her truth.
In that moment, I felt it all:
- The weight of generations of silenced women
- The fury of countless dismissed truths
- The rage of innumerable rewritten stories
- The power of every woman who ever said “enough”

And something broke open.
Not the breaking that diminishes.
But the breaking that frees.
Because here’s what they don’t understand about women and truth:
Every time they try to bury it, it grows roots.
Every time they try to silence it, it learns to sing.
Every time they try to erase it, it writes itself in fire.

Sacred Rage Practice:
– Plant your feet firmly on the ground
– Let your breath fill your belly
– Place one hand on your heart
– Feel the heat of your anger
– Connect this force to your deepest wisdom and purpose
Let it be holy there.
Seven Words
“What did she do to provoke him?”
Seven words that shatter the illusion of safety.
Seven words that echo through generations of women’s bones.
Seven words that pierce the heart of every survivor.
Seven words that reveal the insidious dance of victim-blaming.
Seven words that carry the weight of centuries of silenced voices.
Seven words that transform victims into defendants.
Seven words that daughters absorb in silent witness.
Seven words that every woman has heard in some form.
These seven words – spoken in the aftermath of loss, as raw grief tangled with memories of abuse – rippled through the room like a shock wave. Every woman present felt them land in her body, recognized them from her own story, carried them in her own cells.
Seven words that expose how deeply victim-blaming is woven into our cultural fabric.
Seven words that poison the well of maternal wisdom.
Seven words that show how quickly society rushes to find fault in the wounded rather than face the reality of the wound-maker.
Seven words that perpetuate the cycle of silence.
Seven words that keep women questioning their truth.
Seven words that make daughters doubt their worth.
Seven words that protect abusers and prosecute survivors.
Seven words that turn justice inside out.
The Attempted Erasure
It happens with surgical precision:
First, they question your memory
Then, they rewrite your history
Next, they invalidate your grief
Finally, they erase your truth
The world shifts beneath your feet:
– Yesterday’s certainty becomes today’s doubt
– Your lived experience becomes “your interpretation”
– Your boundaries become “your overreaction”
– Your healing becomes “your sensitivity”
>>>>—<<<<
But your body…
Your magnificent, wise body…
It remembers everything!
>>>>—<<<<
Embodied Truth Practice:
Feel how your body holds wisdom:
- In the clench of your jaw (anger protecting truth)
- In the tightness of your shoulders (strength gathering)
- In the heat of your belly (power building)
- In the race of your heart (courage rising)
Sacred Writing Practice:
In your journal, explore:
- Write a letter to the part of you that had to stay silent
- What would you say to her now?
- What truth has been waiting to be spoken?
- How has your body kept you safe?

The Sacred Alchemy of Rage
Watch what happens when we refuse their erasure:
Our rage becomes holy fire
Our grief becomes fierce grace
Our trauma becomes transformation
Our silence becomes war cry
When they try to rewrite our stories:
We carve them deeper into our bones
We speak them louder with our voices
We live them bolder with our actions
We share them wider with our sisters
Power Rising Practice:
- Stand if you’re able, or sit with dignity:
- Feel your feet connecting to earth
- Let your spine lengthen toward sky
- Open your chest to hold more power
- Release your throat to carry truth
- Lift your eyes to see new horizons
- Breath!
The Legacy We Forge
To every woman who has heard these words:
Your rage is sacred
Your grief is powerful
Your truth is revolutionary
Your rising changes worlds
To every daughter watching:
Your feelings are valid
Your experiences are real
Your voice is needed
Your power is rising
To every sister standing:
Your anger is holy
Your healing is possible
Your strength is unstoppable
Your truth will prevail

The Power They Didn't See Coming
They thought these words would:
- Break our spirit
- Bury our truth
- Silence our voice
- End our story
Instead, these words become:
- The spark of our revolution
- The fuel of our rising
- The core of our strength
- The heart of our power
Let them try to erase us.
We are written in starlight.
Let them try to silence us.
We speak in thunderstorms.
Let them try to diminish us.
We rise like mountains.
Because seven different words are rising now:
"We believe you. Your truth lives here."
And these words don't just heal—
They revolutionize.
They don't just comfort—
They transform.
They don't just support—
They ignite.
Rise, sister.
Your body knows the way.
Your rage knows the truth.
Your heart knows the time is now.
We rise together.
We transform together.
We create everything anew.
Rise, sister. Your voice is needed. Your truth is sacred. Your power is unstoppable.
The time has come to reclaim your story, transform the pain of erasure into the fire of revolution, and rise to the fullness of who you are. Together, we will break the cycle of silence, rewrite the narrative, and create a world where your voice is not just heard but celebrated.
